Cambodia Health Education Media Service (CHEMS)
Cambodia Health Education Media Service (CHEMS) is an independent Cambodian NGO since 2005, and registered with the Ministry of Interior. Formerly a project of Health Unlimited UK, CHEMS was established in 1998 with the primary focus of disseminating sexual reproductive health (SRH) information and advice through Behaviour Change Techniques, including interactive mass media broadcasts and has a total of almost 9 years in developing health-based communications for the Cambodian context. To reinforce key messages, CHEMS produces targeted mass media campaigns using television, radio, print media and community theatre.
CHEMS is now seeking a part-time expatriate Fundraiser/Technical Writer. The contract will be for 3 months, with possibility of extension.
Functions of the post:
Identify funding opportunities and write funding proposals (75%), including:
Identify both in-country and international funding opportunities
Meetings with donors in-country for funding purposes
Brainstorm with CHEMS on proposal development, write proposals and submit to donors
Suggest potential sponsors for CHEMS radio programming
Conduct presentations for donors/clients as required
Contribute to and edit reports and documents (25%), including:
Read and edit documentary scripts
Check/correct the English traslation/subtitles for video/TV drama productions
Assist in writting and editing donor reports
Produce a work plan for required activities
Experience working on or writing media-related proposals is desirable but not essential. The position is approximately three days per week.
